Hi Friends!! Happy Friday Eve! Can you believe that it is near the end of October already...whew!! Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner. I do not want to rush it but as we all do,I like to plan ahead.
I love a plan...and lists, and paper and pens but, let's talk about meal planning for the upcoming season. It can be as simple or complicated as you want. Grab a notebook and a calendar, brain dump all your food thoughts for Thanksgiving, Christmas, before and after. Family favorites, new recipes to try, research what can be made ahead. Begin looking at Kroger, Publix, Sprouts, Trader Joes or where ever you shop. Sales are starting on our favorites now. Aldi is another great place, owned by Trader Joes, that has fabulous bargains and great choices. Organize that brain dump into lists and a timeline. Planning ahead saves money, stress and time and allows you to enjoy your family!!
Every Thursday for the next few weeks, I will be sharing my thoughts and tried and true ideas on planning ahead for the Holidays. Keep in mind,I am not an expert,I am just sharing what works for me..and may work for your.
Below are a couple of my favorites blogs for planning and saving money on groceries...
Crystal Paine, the author of Money Saving Mom,is a local who lives in Franklin. I have followed her for years and her advice is solid and helpful.
Planning can be overwhelming at first...take 20-30 mins and start. I promise you will love it,just be consistent and give it a chance.
PS..Coming tomorrow....From the Frat House Friday..recipes for the college student!
